Question 1

What is filling my Google storage?

Accepted Answer

Google storage is shared across Gmail, Drive, and Google Photos. Large attachments, old promotions and social mail, Drive files and backups, photos and videos, hidden app data, and items still in Trash can all count toward the total.

Question 2

Why is my storage still full after deleting items?

Accepted Answer

Items in Gmail Trash, Drive Trash, Photos Trash, and Spam can continue using storage until they are permanently removed. Google’s storage calculation can also take time to update after a large cleanup.

Question 3

Is the scan free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Run a complete scan across Gmail, Drive, and Photos and review your results before deciding anything. A scan never moves or deletes content.

Question 4

Does Storage Cleaner delete anything automatically?

Accepted Answer

No. You review every cleanup or transfer before it begins. Important and starred mail stays unchecked, and nothing changes without your approval.

Question 5

Will I still have access to moved items?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Drive files are shared back and remain searchable. Photos and videos remain accessible through shared albums, while face groups and Memories remain account-specific. Gmail messages and attachments are saved as files in the other account’s Drive. They are not returned as live messages in the primary inbox.

Question 6

How does the up to 60 GB total work?

Accepted Answer

Your main account plus up to three eligible additional accounts can provide up to 60 GB combined when each includes 15 GB. Google controls account creation, phone verification, and the storage included with each account.

Question 7

Is it safe to connect to my Google account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It uses Google's own sign-in, and the access stays in your browser. You can revoke it anytime in your Google account settings.

Question 8

Does anything get uploaded or sent to you?

Accepted Answer

No. Requests go directly between your browser and Google. Your emails, files, and photos never pass through our servers.

Question 9

Can I undo a cleanup?

Accepted Answer

Items moved to Trash can be restored for up to 30 days, or until you empty Trash. Permanent actions are clearly labeled and require confirmation.

Question 10

Do you work with Google Photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Storage Cleaner reviews large photos and videos, screenshots, blurry photos, unsupported videos, app-saved media, Photos Trash, and Storage Saver opportunities. Savings that cannot be measured exactly are labeled as estimated.

Question 11

Can I reclaim space from Motion Photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Motion Photos bundle a still image with a short video clip, so each one uses far more storage than a regular photo. Convert to Stills keeps the picture and removes the video portion, reclaiming roughly 80% of each item's storage. Originals stay in Google Trash for 30 days, so the process is reversible.

Question 12

What if I want to delete my entire Google Photos library?

Accepted Answer

Storage Cleaner includes a guided Delete All Photos flow for starting over, for example after a new phone backs up a camera roll you did not intend to store. It requires clear confirmation at every step, and everything sits in Google Trash for 30 days before permanent deletion.

Question 13

Do I keep my email address and my main account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your primary account stays your home. The overflow accounts simply carry the storage.

Question 14

Are work or school accounts supported?

Accepted Answer

Not currently. Storage Cleaner supports personal Google accounts only.

Question 15

Is this affiliated with Google?

Accepted Answer

No. It's an independent extension that works with your Google account and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
